The Ruby is quirky and fun, offering menu options for “Hippies and Gym Rats” and dubbing sandwiches “In-Breads”. This must-see is located in the ever-so-funky Hotel Zed. Stop by, eat some chicken and listen to some vinyl, you won’t be disappointed.
It is no surprise The Beach House earned the Open Table 2015 Diner’s Choice Award. This beachfront dining hot spot offers freshly caught seafood, juicy steaks, and a wide variety of wines with a side of history. The Beach house still holds the spirit of the McMorran’s Pavilion, a 1940’s hotspot for dinner and dancing.
Looking for live music, all day breakfast and $25 bottles of wine? Yeah…me too. Lucky for you, I found it, at Bubby’s Kitchen. Their outdoor patio is perfect for sunning yourself while enjoying one of their yummy cocktails. My personal favourite, the Blackberry Mojito. At Bubby’s Kitchen you can also feel good about what you’re eating. They earned their Vancouver Island Green Business Certification by only serving the freshest ingredients and by creating a sustainable restaurant setting. Good vibes, good music and low prices? Sometimes nailing a concept for a restaurant is hard to do. Frankie's take on a modern diner in the heart of downtown Victoria, not only nails it, but pounds down the details building itself as the definitive modern diner.
Open early till late (early bird specials t'boot!), this is one place you truly can bring the whole family and enjoy a good glass of wine. I'm sitting here over eggs, toast, hash (withe cheese!), and one of the better cups of coffee I've had all week, while getting love drunk ready over the menu. I'm by myself but I wouldn't know it. Friendly faces are everywhere and it feels like I've known the staff and Frankie all my life. Yep, that a diner.
