Spinnakers philosophy is that great beer goes best with great food. Spinnakers brewery is a main source of ingredients and inspiration for the food they create, a fact that makes Victoria’s only gastro brewpub deliciously unique.
Spinnakers was 20 years ahead of the local, seasonal, sustainable trend. Working with the community and using local ingredients is a part of their underlying philosophy and showcasing food grown close to home is what they do best. Their brewers, bakers, chocolatier, chef, pastry chef, cooks and bartenders inspire each other to be innovative in creating and recreating a local interpretation of cuisine. In the face of globalization, Spinnakers takes you back to the farm gates to showcase what makes living here so amazing.

Now this place is cool. The Bent Mast is located in a old Victorian house that was built circa 1884. I mentioned old, right? It is one of the original houses constructed in what is now known as the James Bay area of Victoria. That is the area squished between downtown and Dallas road.
The Best Mast is a casual dining establishment that serves food and beverages until the "wee hours". During the summer, the patio provides many hours of watching the world go by while listening to the gentle tunes of local musicians.
My good friend from junior high school lives just stumbling distance away, and I find this to be quite handy. There is a lot to be said to watching the world go by, while you are in it, on the desk, sipping and nibbling. Give it a go!
