Spring/Summer of 2020

There’s plenty of reasons Melissa’s Missteak has been named “Favourite Banff Restaurant” by Calgary Herald. Melissa’s knows their steak and they do it well. For over 30 years Melissa’s has been a Banff staple serving up only the highest quality cuts of meat sourced locally. With an outdoor patio, big screen TVs and pool tables, Melissa’s is a great place to enjoy with friends and family alike.

To start your day right, head over for breakfast and choose from one of their six types of benny’s served with famous shredded hash browns. You may have to skip lunch, but it will be oh so worth it. Enjoy a little slice of Banff history and a killer meal with Melissa’.

Are you lovin' it? I sure as heck am. Yes, you can find a McDonald's restaurant in pretty much any destination around the globe, but this location does it better. Why? It's in the heart of gorgeous downtown Banff for starters! Oh, and breakfast is being served all day now which makes sleepin' in while in the Rockies an ok thing to do! With classic timeless menu items, new healthy and satisfying choices, and a spacious and comfy seating area, you'll be adding this destination to your itinerary and, of course, lovin' it.

Looking for the ultimate combination of mountain flair and exquisite food? You’ll find it in the Vistas Dining Room perched high above the valley (top floor of the Sally Borden Building at the Banff Centre For Arts and Creativity. ) I’m honestly not sure what’s more gasp-worthy - the food or the views!  Confession: I love a good buffet. There’s something about having not having to choose one dish or another that’s so low stress - just have a little of everything! Being able to sample as many different flavours and dishes as possible makes this mountain girl pretty damned happy!

The menus change daily, but no matter whether you choose the breakfast, lunch, or dinner options you’ll walk away patting your tummy and with a big grin on your face (or, was that just me?) I love the fact there are lots of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options in the mix. No need for any of my friends to miss out on a fabulous meal here!

You aren’t the only one to be inspired by this gorgeous place! The team that creates the top-class meals at the Juniper Bistro consistently goes above and beyond to find creative ways to present local ingredients. There’s a reason why the Juniper Bistro received six (!!) awards in the 2019 Best of the Bow Awards. The Juniper romped away with top prize for both Best Breakfast and Dinner Menus, Most Romantic Place to Eat, Best View, Best Patio and Best Service. So, basically, whether you’re planning to start the day with a delicious breakfast fritatta, brekky salad (or something simple like eggs or granola) or want to wow your sweetheart on a special occasion (start by sharing the charcuterie and cheese board), you can’t go wrong by choosing to visit the Juniper Bistro.

Your biggest dilemma will be choosing what date to indulge yourself (while I’m thinking about scheduling - do check the website if you’re planning a visit around a major holiday as opening hours and menu offerings may change).
